Shipping & Returns

Plain rules, no surprises. If anything here is unclear, write to info@island.contact and a person will answer.

Delivery

Delivery is free to the 48 contiguous United States on every order — no minimums, no checkout surprises. We do not currently ship to Alaska, Hawaii, US territories, or internationally.

Smaller items ship by parcel carrier. Large furniture ships by freight. Delivery times vary by item and destination, and you'll receive tracking details by email once your order is dispatched.

Damaged or defective items

Please inspect your order as soon as it arrives. If an item arrives with transit damage or a manufacturing defect, file a claim here within 2 working days of delivery with:

  • your order number,
  • photos of the issue, and
  • photos of the packaging it arrived in.

Claims reported after the 2-working-day window, or without photos of both the item and its packaging, cannot be processed — this is a carrier and supplier requirement, so please photograph everything before discarding the box.

Keep the item in its original packaging at the delivery address while your claim is reviewed; collections can only be made from the address the order was delivered to. We aim to respond within 2–5 business days.

Approved claims

If your claim is approved, collection of the item is free and we'll resolve it with one of the following, depending on the issue: a replacement, a repair, a full or partial refund, or store credit. Refunds are issued to the original payment method and processed within 14 business days.

Change-of-mind returns

Because every piece ships direct from the workshop, we're not able to accept change-of-mind returns — color, size, or doesn't-fit-the-room returns aren't covered. Please check dimensions and materials carefully before ordering; if you're unsure about a piece, email info@island.contact and we'll help you decide before you buy.

Natural variation

Our furniture is made from natural materials — solid woods, rattan, stone — so grain, knots, tone, and texture vary from piece to piece. Reasonable variation from product photography is the nature of the material, not a defect, and isn't grounds for a damage claim.

Order changes & cancellations

Need to change or cancel an order? Email us immediately. Orders can be cancelled for a full refund only if they haven't been dispatched yet; once an order has shipped, the policy above applies.
